I Am Sure Glad They Got Statehood

We went to Kauai, kind of on accident, honestly. We spent 10 days hiking, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, surfing, and lying horizontal on the beach in transcendent repose. We achieved states of relaxation a hair shy of a friggin’ coma. Plus gin and tonic.

Kauai is mostly sunny and near room temperature year-round. Two of the most populous wild animal species are pigs and chickens. This means shoes and shirt are not necessary and bacon and eggs are everywhere, free for the taking. There is no clear reason I do not currently live there.

Check out these pictures of adventure and relaxation in the only tropical paradise I know of that offers, as an extra bonus, modern sanitation, civil infrastructure, cuisine based on SPAM, and the full protections of the U.S. Constitution.
